PRESS RELEASE: Paoli Healthcare Seating is GreenGuard™ Certified

ORLEANS, IN — All seating within the debut collection of the Paoli Healthcare portfolio of seating and casegoods for patient rooms and waiting areas has been awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI).

GREENGUARD Certification distinguishes Paoli Healthcare seating as having low chemical and particle emissions. These low-emitting furniture solutions help to significantly reduce indoor air pollution and contribute to healthy indoor environments.

The four GREENGUARD Certified seating groups within the Paoli Healthcare collection include Huntington, Viejo, Marisol, and Cantera. The four groups are defined by contemporary, curved-arm, transitional, and traditional styling. Each group includes patient and visitor seating, award-winning gliders, recliners, and bariatric chairs. Paoli received certification for these chairs on December 21, 2006.

“Achieving GREENGUARD Certification for our new healthcare seating is yet another mark of distinction for the Paoli Healthcare collection,” says Kent Robbins, Vice President, Marketing, Paoli. “It provides recognition for one of the important ways our new seating meets real-world needs of today’s healthcare environments, reflects Paoli’s long-standing commitment to the natural environment, and marks our continuing progress in being a good steward of the earth.”

The GREENGUARD Certification Program is the only industry-independent certification program for low-emitting products. The program includes rigorous testing, verification, and regular monitoring. It is overseen by GEI which, as an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer, has established performance-based standards to define goods with low chemical and particle emissions for use indoors.

GREENGUARD certification complies with established indoor air quality standards such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) purchasing requirements, State of Washington’s stringent Indoor Air Quality program, and the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Sustainable Building Rating System.
